Do you think dark red (like crimson) is too dark for a July wedding?

At first I thought so, now i'm not sure! I was thinking that color for the bridesmaids then white and red gerbera daisies for our flowers.

Any suggestions?

i think that would be great! those are beautiful flowers as well. i had daisies and gerbera daisies for mine. they are very cheap to get btw! that helped me out a lot with my budget! But i definitely think that would be ok for july. I got married last july and i was very very close to using a dark red. I ended up changing to bright pink at the last minute though.
Reply:If you like that color then i say go for it. It is your wedding and have it the way you like it. I think it will be very pretty. And another thing remember on the wedding day all the little things wont phase you. So dont stress out over the little things. I learned that the hard way. Have fun planning your wedding.
Reply:I think that whatever the bride really wants is what is appropriate. It is your wedding, and the choices should be what makes you happy, not based on what everyone is going to think. :)

Congratulations and good luck!
Reply:As long as the dresses aren't of a heavy material, but nice and flowing, I think they would look REALLY nice. You've made a very good choice, with the flowers, too. BTW, Congratulations!
Reply:no its the July....red white and blue.. if you don't like it go lighter...Good luck
Reply:It's a beautiful color to use and if you are wearing white it will be a very nice contrast, inside or out.

If you are worried about it being outside and hot then just make sure its a light fabric and something all your bridesmaids can wear.
Reply:By itself it might be. A brighter red might have been better. But the fact that you are using white with it, will make it a stunning color combo.
Reply:Crimson is more a winter color. Have you thought about maybe a deep pink such as fuchsia or a medium shad of blue. Turquoise is a very pretty summer color. .white and fuchsia gerber daisies would be pretty with this. Just a thought
Reply:sounds pretty!! and i don't think it's too dark at all. my best friend's sister got married right around that time and my friend and the other bridesmaids had crimson dresses. it was absolutely gorgeous from what i was told!!
Reply:I think that would make a lovely bold statement for a wedding. Go for it!
Reply:Well no, Ruby is the birthstone for July so I guess red would work. However, consider the heat - darker colors draw heat, lighter colors reflect it. If you are having an out-of-doors wedding or reception, your maids will be very unhappy ladies. And these unhappy ladies will be in your photos! Summer weddings are nice (I guess. Mine is this fall) but they make for "sticky" situations. Good luck.
Reply:Just like I have been told a million times....it is your wedding...do as you chose. I understand you want to try and stay with the season, but you have to be the happiest on that day, nobody else. If you go with other colors just because someone said those colors aren't for Juky, you'll be unhappy. Do it!!! I think that color would be beautiful any time of year. Just make sure yoiu are happy with all of it, and I'm sure everyone else will be too.
Reply:It will look lovely. :)
Reply:I don't think it's to dark. It's probably best for a winter or late fall wedding but I plan on that being one of my main colors for when I get married and I'd have a spring or fall wedding.

Go for it....it's a great color!
Reply:It's perfectly fine for a July wedding. Especially if it will be an evening affair. Even if it's during the day, the color is being lightened up with the white gerberas.
Reply:no.... just very sexy!
Reply:Not at all. My colors for June are Red and Champagne...who cares what season it is! It's supposed to be what you want. HAVE FUN!
Reply:I love crimson, it sounds beautiful. The gerbera dailies will be nice for the bridesmaids. I think to pop your dress I would carry a bouquet of crimson roses without a whole lot of greenery in the bouquet, perhaps handtied.
Reply:Dark red is fine for July. It's your wedding you can have what you want. My wedding is in June and my colors are Apple red and my flowers are red roses and white aestromeria.
