I need some ideas for a unity candle for an old fashioned country wedding - not cowboy, just country.?

My colors are going to be mostly white with red gerbera daisies, natural raffia instead of ribbon and a little bit of black here and there. We are going to use mason jars with candles to line the aisle and the front of the church, plus we are going to put a single daisy in mason jars for centerpieces at the reception. I'd like to make a nice unity candle for us while keeping with the theme. Although, I don't think we should use anymore mason jars - lol. Any ideas?

How about using the same flowers from your bouquet and wrap them around the unity candles?

i think that would look stunning!

or you could always go with sunflowers and white Gerber daisies!! =]

Hope i helped!

ALSO, adding a few rhinestones to the flowers (fake or real) can add a bit of sparkle to to candles!
Reply:Use a white pillar with the red gerbera daisies and raffia around the bottom. Then just the raffia on the tapered candle holders. It would be elegant and country! Your wedding sounds beautiful. I had one similar!
Reply:check out barn candles online...they are poured into mason jars, smell great and burn clean so you'll be lighting it on your anniversary for the next 50 years.
Reply:Back in the day wheat was a symbol of fertility and good fortune and brides used to carry it in their bouquet. Since it is a "country" theme, i would think strands of wheat might look nice. Maybe incorporate that into your unity candle by tying a bunch around a pilar candle or something like that.
Reply:A way to dress up a plain pillar candle to make it a unity candle is to stick a copy of your wedding invitation, a photo, a poem, or a quote. An easy way to do this is to use straight pins with white ball tops around the edges of the paper to stick it on the front of the candle. For more decoration, you can purchase or make ribbon bows to glue on the sides and base. Another option is to use trim or beads to put around the sides of the invitation or anywhere else on the candle. Also, keep in mind that if you would like a candle that is not white, you can buy acrylic paint to make it any color you like.
Reply:I think getting a few fake red gerbera daisies and putting them on a white pillar candle would be great. Fake is better for this because you can do it ahead of time. Just make sure not to let the candle burn down too much, or FIRE!

The ones for the lighting, tapers, with raffia tied on them. That would be nice. I would just get a plain candle holder for each, like clear glass to match the mason jars... No crystal, just plain.
