My flower is drooping. Why?

I bought a potted gerbera daisy several weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed that the flower stems are bending and looking kind of weak. They used to be straight and solid looking. The oldest flowers are drooping the worst. The one that opened last week seems to be doing fine. The pot is near a west facing window, it gets lots of afternoon sun. The soil is moist to the touch and the pot drains well. There's no sign of bugs. My apartment temp ranges from low 60's at night to 70ish during the day.

Does anyone know what's wrong with my plant?

I think that it is just the older flowers dying off. Gerbera

produces new blooms continuously during its flowering period.

The only other thing it might be is that it is planted too deep so that the crown is below the surface. This causes rot. As your plant is still blooming well I doubt this is the cause. Have a look at these sites for more help.
Reply:Gravity strikes again!!!
