Planning My Dream Wedding :) Hows this sound?

I have always dreamed of my colors being magenta/orange/yellow... My flowers will be gerbera daisies (you know- those really big daisies) in those colors.

Theres a neat little place nearby called "paradise cove" its basically a little place on the water with a pavilion and outdoor tiki bar and beach etc.

Id have my ceremony out on the dock overlooking the lake... reception would be outdoors.. dinner under the pavilion and drinks/dancing etc under the stars out on the beach area (drinks being served out of the tiki bar)

I would have chinese lanterns in the wedding colors hanging from the trees lighting the beach/dance floor.

Your thoughts? Could this manage to be a semi-classy affair even though outdoors? Do you think this sounds kind of unique and original? (im just so tired of the regular old reception hall wedding)

Any ideas appreciated :)

I think that sounds awesome. I'm actually looking for the same kind of set up. That place isn't in Fl. by any chance is it? I think it sounds pretty and exotic, and could definitely be classy. I am dead tired of the usual wedding stuff! I don't want a cookie cutter wedding!

Haters! I hope their happy with the same wedding everyone else in the word has had! ha ha! How boring is that? ugg, I couldn't ever imagine myself walking down a church aisle, and having a big room decked out in tacky decorations!
Reply:I agree! It sounds so pretty! I think it would be fun and original. The lanterns, water, flowers, - great!

But, there are just a couple of things to keep in mind:

1. Make sure you have a way to keep flies off of the food and the drinks (covers or something).

2. Make sure it's not too hot (in the evening, you should be fine).

3. Have a back up plan in case it rains (a nearby building or tent).

Congrats and good luck!
Reply:Sounds awesome. I had my wedding over a year ago now, and I wish my was outdoors, but instead it was in a church, that I rarely attended, and had a hundred guests. I hated all of it, from the flowers to the food. Only thing I like was my dress, but I was basicly forced into a huge, yet pretty drab wedding. So, whatever you do, have the wedding YOU'VE always wanted and forget what others think is better or more appropriate. And don't forget to have fun, and remember why you're getting married, enjoy the "after party" life. Good luck!
Reply:Love it! Go for it, honey!!

Sounds really cute and original. I love the idea of a tiki bar, and chinese lanterns... too cute!

Oh, and it can definitely be classy... class has nothing to do with tiki bars or indoor reception banquet halls. It's all about the details and your attitude! Believe me, I've seen weddings held in beautiful banquet halls where the bride was literally ready to do a keg stand... it has nothing to do with being in or outdoors! ;)

Hope this helps!! Good luck planning! :)
Reply:omg i love this idea! It sounds great, you're on the right track. It can still uphold the classy style and be outdoor, and I love those colors together. Good luck on everything-- I have nothing to add, only because i think it's sounds great already!!
Reply:sounds fun and sounds like it will be really enjoyable all around

just bcse it's outside doesn't mean it lacks class

everyones idea of class is different so if you yourself aren't offended by your plans your guests, who are your friends, shouldn't be offeneded either.
Reply:Sounds really nice but hope you can pay for everyone to be there for your BIG day.
Reply:I think that sounds absolutely lovely, very modern and could be extremely classy. The only thing is...I'm English and so my first thought was...what if it rains?! :)
Reply:This sounds really corny!

How can it be classy if its outside near the water?

Yea its unique alright! LOL
